In March 2017, the King Street Market was approved by Watauga County with help from BRWIA and local farmers. The King Street Market will help the community by providing an array of high quality, fresh produce at a fair price in a convenient location for consumers. The King Street Market will provide a visible and well-organized, cost effective weekday market location for local farmers and food producers to sell their products.
Come check it out and stay tuned for more information!
When is the market?
The first day of the market will be Tuesday, May 23, 2017 and will be held each Tuesday for 22 weeks from May 23 through October 17 (subject to change), rain or shine. Market hours are 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Where is the market?
This new market will be located at very visible and well-travelled site. The grassy area in front of the Watauga County Social Services building and the Watauga County Health Department and Career Center offers ample parking for customers, is a stop on the ApplCart route, and will allow us to work directly with the health department on their programs for our food insecure residents.
